Frequently Asked QuestionsHere are answers to some of the more common questions we have had asked regarding MauiKink.com and our products. Please email us if you have any further questions that we can answer for you!
I have questions about your Bondage and Shibari Ropes.Many of your questions can be answered on our Bondage Rope FAQ page or by reading the descriptions of each rope.
How long does it take for you to process and
ship your rope? Processed ropes include our Hemp, Jute and Linen. We process these ropes in small batches and try to keep a stock of all the lengths and dyes available. Normal processing and conditioning takes between 6-12 business days from date of received/processed payment. (Business days = Monday - Friday. We do not count weekends or holidays) We do not begin processing orders until payment has been received or credit cards have been processed. In rare circumstances, if it will take longer, we will contact you to let you know. Once the ropes are completely processed, we will ship within 24-48 hours. You will always receive an email with tracking information when we ship your order. Please contact us AFTER the 12 business day mark if you have not received an email with shipping information. Most of our Exotic Ropes can be shipped within 3 business days, if in stock. Our Luxury ropes include our Bamboo, Silk, Cashmere, Organic Cotton and others listed on the Luxury Rope page. Lengths of some of our luxury ropes are custom made for each order and standard turnaround time is 2 weeks (or between 7-14 business days) though processing can take up to 2.5 weeks. Once the ropes are completely processed, we will ship within 24-48 hours. You will always receive an email with tracking information when we ship your order. Our unprocessed spools of hemp rope are shipped usually once a week on Fridays and arrive within a week to most destinations in the US and within Canada and internationally between 7-21 days. Can I get a sample of your ropes? Of course. Send us an email or choose from our Rope Samples page with which ones you would like a sample of.
Do you design and create all the items you sell?All of the implements and tools listed on our website, as well as all custom creations, are handcrafted by the MauiKink.com ohana on the beautiful island of Maui with the exception of a few items that are created by off island vendors. We create and design most items ourselves which makes it easy for us to create one of a kind items for our customers. No two items we create are *exactly* the same - we do not "manufacture" or "produce" our products.
Do you custom create items?Yes, we can custom created almost anything you desire or using our standard designs, we can personalize items with leathers, woods and materials of your choosing. Where do you find the many exotic woods and ropes you use to create your products?Mango, Monkey Pod, Koa (Acacia), Ohia, Teak, Milo, Plum, Philippines Mahogany, Kiawe, and other hardwoods are local to the Hawaiian Islands and make beautiful products. We have local suppliers for specialty ropes such as Seagrass, Hemp, Coconut Fiber as well as Rattan and Bamboo. All these make MauiKink.com a unique place to shop! How do I care for my leather and wood items?All wood furniture and toys should be cared for as you would fine wood furniture. Cleaning and care should be with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner intended for wood furniture such as Pledge, Pledge Wipes, Murphy's Oil Soap. Wood furniture and toys should not be exposed to moisture or extreme heat as it could damage the finish and integrity of the product. Here is a great article over leather care.

Can you make cuffs to fit me?Collars, cuffs, harnesses, etc can all be made to order based on sizing you provide for us! Be sure of your measurements and send it along with your order. We also offer adjustable cuffs that can be fitted at Small, Medium and Large. Please see descriptions for details and feel free to email us with questions on sizes.
How can I take the correct measurements for cuffs and restraints?To get a measurement, you can wrap a soft tape measure around the part of the body
that the item is going to be worn on (wrist, ankle, thigh, etc.). If you don't
have a tape measure, then wrap a string around the body part then measure the
string with a ruler. |
